Poet Ivy

Yesterday I got something I've been waiting for for a very long time. The copies I ordered of the Great Depression! The Great Depression is a collection of 37th relative and thought provoking poems written by a London based poet by the name Poet Ivy. One of my favorite poems from the collection, is called "Je vous aime la maman". It's a beautiful tribute to the poet's mum and I wanted to share it with you guys, here it goes.

Je vous aime la maman

And every time I hear "hail the queen"
I'm vastly reminded of my loving mother
She alone has been my queen before I was a teen
Always provided and cared like no other
From the lingering memories as a child,
To youth's mindlessness when I ran wild;
You are as tough as old boots and shoes
Relentless and unselfishly putting us before you;
And even when we fall and falter at life's adversity,
You still see us as a rose colored glass; always thrifty,
Always inspirational and motivational to all.
And your unconditional love,
Hardworking, persistence
And joyous attitude accompanies
Just everything a perfect mum embodies
I love you more now
Than I did before I thought to
Write this poem to you.
Vous êtes le meilleur dans le mond (you are the best in the world)
Je vous aime la maman (I love you mum)

Proud owner, I need to get them signed!

Poet Ivy is definitely one to watch. You can get your own copy here:
